Simpson Strong-Tie: Their History and Mission

Simpson Strong-Tie was founded in 1956 by Barclay Simpson, who had a simple yet innovative idea to solve a problem. He created a product to connect the ends of 2x4s for a roof, which led to the company's first innovation - a joist hanger.

Today, Simpson Strong-Tie's mission is driven by its people and values-based culture, guided by its founder's Nine Principles of Business. These principles emphasize the importance of customer focus,
innovation, and giving back to the community.

Products and Solutions

Strong-Tie has come a long way since its humble beginnings. The company's product offering now extends into various markets, including residential, commercial, national retail, and building technology. They design and manufacture a wide range of products, including wood connectors, fasteners, and fastening systems, mechanical and adhesive anchors, and systems for resisting lateral forces. They also provide software solutions to help structural engineers, architects, contractors, and homeowners design, estimate, and order supplies for their specific needs.
